Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effects of annealing heat treatment and galvalume coating
on the bending strength and corrosion resistance of low carbon steel (Cold Rolled Coil). The applied
testing methods include a three-point bending test for mechanical evaluation and a corrosion rate test
using the weight loss method based on ASTM G31-21. Corrosion testing was conducted in 3.5% NaCl
solution with immersion times of 48, 96, and 144 hours. The results indicate that the combination of
annealing and galvalume coating increases the bending strength from 667.28 MPa to 719.01 MPa.
Additionally, the corrosion rate significantly decreases from 0.00046 mm/y to 0.00023 mm/y at 48
hours of immersion. These findings demonstrate that this combined treatment enhances both mechanical
performance and corrosion resistance, making the material suitable for applications in highly corrosive
environments.
