Analysis of the Effect of Annealing and Galvalume Coating Processes on the Tensile Strength and Hardness of Cold Rolled Steel Materials (Cold Rolled Coil)
Main Article Content
Abstract
processes on the mechanical properties of cold-rolled steel, particularly tensile strength
and hardness. The specimens with 0.45 mm thickness were tested in two conditions:
before and after annealing and AZ100 galvalume coating. Tensile testing (JIS Z 2201)
and Rockwell hardness testing (ASTM E18) were performed. The results showed that the
annealing and galvalume coating process decreased the maximum tensile strength
from 584.4 MPa to 558.4 MPa, while the surface hardness increased from 85 HRB to 93
HRB. This indicates improved surface protection and corrosion resistance, making the
material suitable for lightweight structural applications.
